El Paso is the county seat of El Paso County in West Texas. The city has a population of 620,500 and ranks as the sixth-largest city in Texas. El Paso is another Mexican border city, standing on the Rio Grande across from Cuidad Juarez in Mexico.
The Franklin Mountains extend into El Paso from the North and almost divide the city into two sections. The western part forms the beginnings of the Mesilla Valley, whilst the eastern slopes connect the business district at the south end.
